ประวัติความเป็นมา
ภาควิชากายภาพบำบัด คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ ได้รับการจัดตั้งขึ้นเมื่อ 3 มีนาคม 2558
ตามมติที่ประชุมสภามหาวิทยาลัย ในคราวประชุมครั้งที่ 362 (9/2557) เมื่อวันที่ 20 ธันวาคม 2557
สาขาวิชากายภาพบำบัด ได้จัดตั้งขึ้นในภาควิชาศัลยศาสตร์ออร์โธปิดิกส์และกายภาพบำบัด คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ เพื่อจัดการเรียนการสอนสาขาวิชากายภาพบำบัด ตั้งแต่ในปีการศึกษา 2549 เป็นต้นมาซึ่งการจัดการเรียนการสอน การวิจัย รวมทั้งการให้บริการด้านวิชาการ ดำเนินการวางแผนและปฏิบัติโดยอาจารย์สาขาวิชากายภาพบำบัด ภายใต้การดูแลและให้คำแนะนำและสนับสนุนของคณะแพทยศาสตร์
การจัดทำหลักสูตรวิทยาศาสตรบัณฑิต สาขาวิชากายภาพบำบัด เป็นการดำเนินการตามพันธกิจของคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ ในการผลิตบุคลากรทางด้านวิทยาศาสตร์สุขภาพที่มีคุณภาพและคุณธรรม ให้มีจำนวนที่เหมาะสมและพอเพียง สอดคล้องกับความต้องการของสังคม
การดำเนินการของหลักสูตรฯ ได้ใช้สถานที่และทรัพยากรของโรงพยาบาลสงขลานครินทร์ และคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ ในการจัดการเรียนการสอนทั้งภาคทฤษฎีและภาคปฏิบัติ
History
The Department of Physical Therapy, Faculty of Medicine, Prince of Songkla University, was officially established on 3 March 2015, following the resolution of the University Council at its 362nd meeting (9/2014) held on 20 December 2014.
The Physical Therapy program was initially established under the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Physical Therapy, Faculty of Medicine, Prince of Songkla University, to provide education in physical therapy starting from the academic year 2006. Teaching and learning and research, as well as academic service activities, were planned and implemented by the Physical Therapy faculty members under the supervision, guidance, and support of the Faculty of Medicine.
The development of the Bachelor of Science Program in Physical Therapy aligns with the mission of the Faculty of Medicine, Prince of Songkla University, to produce competent and ethical health science professionals in sufficient numbers to meet the needs of society.
The program utilizes the facilities and resources of Songklanagarind Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine, Prince of Songkla University, for both theoretical instruction and practical training.
